Frequently asked questions

About the data

Where does the fuel price data come from?

From the GOV.UK Fuel Finder, a government-run scheme where major fuel retailers are required to publish their prices. The data is updated every 30 minutes.

Are prices guaranteed to be accurate?

Prices are provided by fuel retailers and may occasionally differ from what you see at the pump. Always check the price before fuelling.

Which fuel grades are covered?

Unleaded petrol (E10), diesel (B7), premium unleaded (E5), and super diesel (SDV) where available.

Price alerts

How do I set a price alert?

Create a free account, then add alerts either from the search results page or directly on the My Alerts page. Choose a postcode (or use your current location), a fuel grade, a search radius, an optional price target, and how often you want to hear from us. You can be notified by email or WhatsApp.

How often will I receive alerts?

You choose: on every genuine price change, at most once a day, or at most once a week. We only message you when the price has actually moved since we last notified you, so you are never sent the same price twice.

How do I cancel my alerts?

Click the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or manage every alert from the My Alerts page, where you can add and remove alerts for any postcode.

Why do I need to confirm my email or mobile number?

To protect you and others: alerts are only ever sent to an email address or mobile number whose owner has confirmed they want them. New email subscriptions receive a confirmation link, and WhatsApp alerts start only after you enter the code we text to your mobile.

Coverage

Which petrol stations are listed?

Stations from all major UK fuel retailers including BP, Shell, Esso, Texaco, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, and more.

Does it cover Northern Ireland?

Yes, coverage includes the whole of the United Kingdom where retailers have registered with the GOV.UK Fuel Finder scheme.
